There are a lot of heavy hitters on the injury list this week, let's take a look before the final reports are issued for the early kickoffs in about an hour.
Questionable
(Game-Time Decision)
Dak Prescott
Prescott is a game time decision for Sunday night's matchup, but the QB is expected to play barring a serious calf setback in pregame warmups. If you are nervous about the 6:20 EST kickoff which limits your options if Prescott does not play, try to get Kirk Cousins or Daniel Jones on your roster to sub in as they are the only options that play in later games. There is also the option of picking up Matt Ryan, Ryan Tannehill, or Baker Mayfield and starting them over Prescott, or if you have Joe Burrow or another high-quality backup rostered you can plug them in. I put Prescott's chances of playing around 90%, so if you leave Prescott in make sure you pick up his backup Cooper Rush and if the star is ruled out, you at least won't have zeros from the QB position (hopefully). Austin Ekeler
Ekeler "came up a little sore" with a hip after practice Wednesday, resulting in missed practices Thursday and Friday. Mid-week appearances on the injury report can be really bad, but soreness sounds a lot better than a sprain, strain, or tear. Ekeler and head coach Brandon Staley think the running back will play, but it's enough of a concern to pay attention to the final inactives list before the 4:05 EST kickoff.
Rob Gronkowski
After scoring four touchdowns in two games to start the season, Gronkowski suffered a rib injury week 3 and hasn't been back since. He returned to practice this week in a limited fashion, and is a game-time decision for the 4:25 EST matchup against the Saints. I believe Gronkowski will play, and likely be productive with Antonio Brown out for the Bucs.
Sterling Shepard
Shepard was out again last week but returned to practice and looks like a lock for Monday night's matchup against the Chiefs, who have been terrible at stopping opposing teams through the air. With fellow receivers Kenny Golladay out and Kadarius Toney a game time decision, Shepard appears to be a must-start flex option as long as he suits up. That's a tough gamble for a Monday night player however.
