Everyone is getting hurt but there are guys you drafted at other positions that you can move and get value for without losing a bunch of games until your injured players come back. Teams that lost McCaffery and Pacheco etc, it might be time to package some deals so you aren’t behind the 8 ball mid-season.
Saquon Barkley
A lot of rosters are loaded with wide receivers drafted early. Barkley could be a top 5-10 RB all year if healthy, so giving up someone like Ceedee Lamb if you have a little depth at wideout, might win you the season.
Christian McCaffery
Knowing he is out for awhile, if you feel like you have a solid roster that can survive until his return, make the trade now. The McCaffery owners are largely 0-2 and will be desperate and you can get him at bottom dollar. Survive through mid season and he could win you the league down the stretch.
Nick Chubb
If you have Jerome Ford, and don’t have Chubb on your IR slot, look at moving some pieces to get him on board soon. With all the injuries over the first two weeks you can get Chubb and stash him, and when he comes back mid season you will get more value that way than just having Ford as a bench player.
James Conner
Most people that draft Conner won’t let him go based on the draft value versus production. But if you find the right trade partner you can add a solid RB2 on a Cardinals team that looks high powered, and get him for a receiver or TE you don’t need but the trade partner can’t survive without.
Najee Harris
With the recent injuries to running backs around the league, combined with lack of production from several players who were expected to be better, the need for a solid RB2 is necessary. Harris hasn’t had the sexiest career, but at the right price he can elevate your team as Pittsburgh navigates the Fields/Wilson experiment. If you have good receivers or tight ends on your bench, you can find a trade partner and get Harris for relatively cheap value.
It’s all a gamble at this point in the year (does Rasheed Shahid and guys like that continue to put up crazy points? Probably not). But can you trade them at top value for a running back that can save your season? Absolutely.
