Sure there is turkey, and ham, and family, all that stuff. But most importantly, there is football.
Chicago @ Detroit
12:30 EST (10:30 MST)
On paper this game looks like a stinker, but sometimes those end up being the best matchups. Chicago is without rookie Justin Fields, meaning Andy Dalton will be under center, and Detroit is expecting Jared Goff to start after missing time with an oblique injury.
The Bears are without more than just Fields this Thanksgiving. RB Damien Williams is also out, WR Darnell Mooney has been limited all week (no designation however), WR Allen Robinson is doubtful to play, and WR Marquise Goodwin is questionable with a shoulder.
On the defensive side, Khalil Mack is out for the year after needing season-ending foot surgery. DT Akeem Hicks is also out, along with DBs Eddie Jackson and Tashaun Gipson being questionable. The Bears are trotting out a pretty tattered team today, and expect the Lions to try and take advantage of this, and finally secure their first win of the season. The Lions are also dealing with some injuries, most notably the Jared Goff game-time decision and both offensive tackles being out for today.
For a game that looks miserable, I think we actually might see a battle here. Dalton wants to show he still can play, and Detroit sees this as the best shot at a win they have going down the stretch. It should be a fun game.
SportsLeaf Prediction: Detroit gets their first win. Chicago 17, Detroit 23
