Week 3 saw several close matchups and one huge upset, resulting in a FIRST EVER two-way tie for Match of the Week! Let's take a look at how it all went down.

Match of the Week(s)

(12) Beaver Licker 108.84

vs

(5) Loveland Longshots 109.72

In a real nail-biter that came down to the Monday night game once again, we saw Beaver Licker down but still with star RB Zeke Elliott going against Longshots' TE Dallas Goedert. Zeke had quite the night, but Goedert posted just enough to hold onto the lead and Longshots squeaked out the narrow victory. What ultimately did Beaver in was the choice to flex rookie Rondale Moore over solid RB Kareem Hunt, who has been posting solid numbers in the Cleveland offense and is a must-start at this point. Loveland Longshots benefitted from consistency at most positions, which covered for sub-par outings from Tyreek Hill and QB Russell Wilson.

Next week, Loveland Longshots (2-1) faces the powerful Cody Burrows In Buttholes (2-1) roster, in a match that will put one of them in the upper echelon of the league with a strong 3-1 record. Longshots is hoping for Tee Higgins to return to his roster, and perhaps the upside of Jamal Williams warrants a flex over a tight end in a matchup where he likely needs ceiling production for a win. Beaver (0-3) hopes to get his first win against Khronick (1-2), and will look to adjust his roster to leave less points on the bench this week.

(3) Kurty's Lil' Beauties 122.98

vs

(7) Savages 128.62

First ranked (and undefeated) Kurty's Lil' Beauties marched to battle in week 3 with a strong roster and a projected win against the struggling Savages. The week kicked off Thursday night in horrible fashion, with Kurty's first overall pick Christian McCaffrey suffering a hamstring injury early in the game and posting an unfortunate 6.00 point total. This immediately gave the underdog Savages a fighter's chance, and bounce-back performances from Saquan Barkley and continued results from Travis Kelce, Jaylen Waddle, and Adam Thielen gave him enough to compensate for lackluster days from QB Ben Roethlisberger and WR Allen Robinson. Kurty didn't go down without a fight, but ultimately an uncharacteristically lackluster day from TE TJ Hockenson compiled with the CMC injury couldn't overcome the lead Savages had put up. Kurty had some hope Monday night with Amari Cooper going, but the veteran dealing with rib issues saw limited production and Savages secured the victory.

Looking ahead, Savages (2-1) faces the 6th ranked GTowns Finest (2-1) in a matchup that will put one of them at the top of the rankings with a 3-1 record. Savages hopes for continued success from Saquan Barkley and needs to take a serious look at the number of Chicago Bears offensive players he has rostered. Kurty's Lil' Beauties (2-1) goes head to head with MCKC, and will have to scramble on waivers/trades to bolster a RB room that is basically non-existent with Christian McCaffrey out multiple weeks.

Runner Up

(2) Staff Infection 151.38

vs

(11) MCKC 134.54

Our runner up matchup was a doozy as well, a high-scoring affair that saw Staff Infection take a Sunday afternoon lead and never look back. The continuing dominance of Cooper Kupp and Tom Brady, along with a huge 20-point boost from his Saints defense, was too much for MCKC to overcome despite posting a solid day himself. Ultimately MCKC had both his starting RBs out with injury and though the substitutes did well, it wasn't enough to get them their first win on the season.

Next week, MCKC (0-3) looks to finally put a win on the board against the RB-weak Kurty's Lil' Beauties (2-1), and hopes his own starting injured RBs Jacobs and Henderson can take the field to help him out. Staff Infection (2-1) hopes to hand top-ranked RayJohn (3-0) his first loss and take the number one spot out of his cold, lifeless hands.

The Rest of Us

(6) GTowns Finest 149.44

vs

(8) Vaders Shade 110.14

Vaders Shade came out and saw awesome days from a few stars early, but slow days from ancillary starters and QB Kyler Murray weighted him down. His bench didn't perform well either, so Vader made good roster decisions, it just didn't pan out. GTown meanwhile absolutely rolled behind strong outings from Justin Jefferson, Alvin Kamara, and QB Justin Herbert, while rookie Jamar Chase continues to impress. GTown's decision to bench star WR DeAndre Hopkins also paid off, with the injured veteran limited to just 5 points.

Next week, Vaders Shade (1-2) faces Bye Felicia (1-2) in a matchup that will be decided by whether Vader can get some production from his struggling starters. GTown (2-1) meanwhile has a tough one against Savages (2-1), who is fresh off a huge upset victory. GTown hopes for a healthy Hopkins back in lineup to help push him to a 3-1 start.

(4) CBIB 141.64

vs

(9) Bye Felicia 80.40

Cody Burrows In Buttholes (name too long for header) has been a force to be reckoned with over the first three weeks, posting strong numbers in and out. The loss of RB Dalvin Cook was inconsequential, as CBB had backup Mattison on board and the replacement performed better than expected. Bye Felicia had a lot of issues, with several people suffering in-game injuries and many of her bench players outperforming her starters.

Looking ahead, CBB is in a prime spot to move to the top of the rankings with a win against Loveland Longshots (2-1), while Bye Felicia looks to make some roster moves and pull out of the bottom tier with a win against the faltering Vaders Shade (1-2).

(1) RayJohn 128.72

vs

(10) Khronick 95.42

Despite not putting up a crazy point total, RayJohn got just enough from breakout WR Mike Williams and rookie RB Najee Harris to counter some less-than-stellar days from Lamb, Woods, and Mixon. Khronick has been dealing with injuries and an unproductive bench, limiting his options for backups. RB Clyde Edwards-Hilaire showed signs of life, and QB Josh Allen finally had a breakout week, leading the week in scoring and giving some hope for the future for Khronick.

Looking ahead, RayJohn (3-0) has his toughest matchup against the quickly-spreading Staff Infection. He will need top days from his RB Mixon and a return from WR Antonio Brown if he stands a chance to retain the number one spot in the league. Khronick looks for a bounce-back week against the winless Beaver Lickers, hoping to right the ship before falling too far out of the playoff running.
