Fantasy Super Bowl Cheat Sheet: RB Sleepers, Must Starts, and More

It's been a long journey but here we are folks. The 2021 Fantasy Super Bowl (unless your league is stupid and does their super bowl week 18). Naturally, when it's the biggest game of the year, decisions become much harder to make. Researching this article clarified some things for me and I feel much more confident setting my lineups than I did on Tuesday, so hopefully this helps you as well.

Need specific start/sit advice for your fantasy super bowl? Hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, and ask directly!

RB Must Starts

1. Jonathan Taylor, IND (vs LV)

2. Nick Chubb, CLE (@ PIT)

3. Dalvin Cook, MIN (@ GB)

4. Joe Mixon, CIN (vs KC)

5. Austin Ekeler, LAC (vs DEN)

6. Alvin Kamara, NO (vs CAR)

7. Najee Harris, PIT (vs CLE)

8. David Montgomery, CHI (vs NYG)

9. Aaron Jones, GB (vs MIN)

10. Ezekiel Elliott, DAL (vs AZ)

Power Plays

These guys have great matchups, or a history of performing well. Some of them haven't been performing as well of late, taking them out of the Must Start category, but based on outlook and frankly lack of options they profile to do well in week 17.

11. Sony Michel, LAR (@ BAL)

12. Rashaad Penny, SEA (vs DET)

13. *Elijiah Mitchell, SF (vs HOU)

14. Damien Harris, NE (vs JAX)

15. Javonte Williams, DEN (@ LAC)

16. Ronald Jones, TB (@ NYJ)

17. Darrel Williams, KC (@ CIN)

18. Chase Edmonds, ARI (@ DAL)

*Mitchell is currently "Questionable" for Sunday

Ranking the Rest

19. Josh Jacobs, LV (@ IND)

20. Michael Carter, NYJ (vs TB)

21. Cord. Patterson, ATL (@ BUF)

22. Jamaal Williams, DET (@ SEA)

23. Devin Singletary, BUF (vs ATL)

24. Melvin Gordon III, DEN (@ LAC)

25. Devonta Freeman, BAL (vs LAR)

26. Rex Burkhead, HOU (@ SF)

27. Rha. Stevenson, NE (vs JAX)

28. Saquan Barkley, NYG (@ CHI)

29. Jordan Howard, PHI (@ WFT)

30. Antonio Gibson, WFT (vs PHI)

31. D'Onta Foreman, TEN (vs MIA)

32. Duke Johnson, MIA (@ TEN)

33. Boston Scott, PHI (@ WFT)

34. AJ Dillon, GB (vs MIN)

35. Kareem Hunt, CLE (@ PIT)

36. D. Ogunbowale, JAX (@ NE)

37. Justin Jackson, LAC (vs DEN)

38. Myles Gaskin, MIA (@ TEN)

39. Jeff Wilson, SF (@ HOU)

40. Mark Ingam II, NO (vs CAR)

Patterson is a top 10 RB this year, but maybe not against Buffalo in your super bowl. Jacobs also faces a tough matchup with Indy, but if Wentz misses the game due to Covid the Raiders could find themselves running the ball a lot. Michael Carter comes back to face Tampa and while that game might be a blowout, Carter was getting consistent work regardless of the game script before he was injured.

Rex Burkhead is unlikely to replicate his crazy week 16 performance against the Chargers, but still warrants a flex play against San Francisco's middle of the pack rush D. Jamaal Williams wasn't handed the crown in Detroit after Swift was hurt, but this Seattle matchup profiles as the Motor City's last shot at a victory this season and we could see a lot of Detroit position players do well on Sunday.

Gibson, Freeman, and Singletary don't have league-busting outlooks but they should chug along and hit their floor marks. The committee backfield RBs like Melvin Gordon, Howard/Scott in Philly, Rhamondre Stevenson, and the Miami backs are in similar floor situations with their chance of blowing up being fairly luck-dependent on who gets the score. Hard to rely on for your championship roster but better than scouring the waivers.

I would never start Saquan Barkley in my Super Bowl.

I would never start a Jacksonville running back I have barely heard of against the New England Patriots in my Super Bowl.

The RB2s like Dillon, Hunt, and Jackson are super risky plays with very low ceilings unless their counterparts get hurt.

If Elijiah Mitchell is not able to go for SF, Jeff Wilson rockets up this list a bit, I would put him up in the Power Play category. If James Conner returns for Arizona, I don't think it makes him start-able but it could hinder Chase Edmond's production a little.

RB Sleepers

1. Ronald Jones, TB

2. Darrel Williams, KC

3. Michael Carter, NYJ

4. Rex Burkhead, HOU

5. Jordan Howard, PHI

6. Duke Johnson, MIA

Good luck and hopefully you are bringing home the trophy when the dust clears on week 17!
